ABOUT STUART
COACH
Stuart K Robinson is widely regarded as one of Los Angeles' top acting instructors. In addition to a resume full of acting and directing accolades, Stuart has put to use his fifteen years experience as a Casting Director at one of the nation's largest commercial casting facilities, along with five years as Creative Director at LA's Television Marketing Group, producer and composer to shape a philosophy that allows actors to get the most out of every moment. This diverse background gave Stuart a unique perspective on the audition and its many complex components. His highly successful studio is an inspirational place for actors from all walks of life.

Stuart has successfully coached actors in all facets of the entertainment industry, from novices to seasoned professionals, including but not limited to the following: Sports figures: L.A. Laker Earvin "Magic" Johnson, Dallas Maverick A.C. Green, and four time Olympic distance and relay runner Willie Amayke; Hosts: the View's Sherri Shepherd, and several of MTV, Nickelodeon and VH!'s top personalities; and Film/Television and Musicians: John Corbett, Tonya Pinkens, Paula Newsome, Kristin Cavalleri, Freddie Prinze Jr., and numerous casts members of Broadway shows such as RAGTIME. WICKED and RENT.

Stuart continues today to coach over five hundred regular and semi-regular students in group, semi-private, and private sessions.

Additionally he serves as consultant to several entertainment organizations.

DIRECTOR
Stuart received an NAACP Award nomination in the Best Director category for Charlayne Woodard's hit play PRETTY FIRE, which earned L.A. Drama Critic's Circle, NAACP, and Dramalogue awards as best play and subsequently enjoyed a successful run at New York's Manhattan Theater Project, as well as the Seattle Repertory. He also developed Woodard's two sequels, NEAT and IN REAL LIFE, which received sold out runs at the Mark Taper Forum. He participated in the Sundance Institute Theater Laboratory where he directed and developed IN REAL LIFE, which was subsequently performed at the US Comedy Festival at Aspen.

Stuart wrote and directed the Wells Fargo Radio Theater production of GETTIN' THE HOLIDAY SPIRIT, which was broadcast live from the Gene Autry Western Heritage Museum. He directed the L.A. Theater Works radio productions of PRETTY FIRE, RELATIVITY, MASTER HAROLD AND THE BOYS, and IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT starring Elliot Gould and Sally Kellerman at the Skirball Museum.

Stuart created, directed, and produced the television series PETSTOP for the Disney Channel. He wrote the MCA kidpic THE KOMEDY KIDS, directed and scored the animated classic MR. MEN, provided original score and musical direction on the multi-million selling WEE SING series. Stuart was also the author/director of numerous episodes of TALES IN THE ORAL TRADITION, a public service children's television series designed to bring the ancient art of storytelling to young people, starring Elliot Gould, Avery Schreiber, and L.A. Children's Improv Company.

Stuart is the writer/producer of UGLY DUCKLINGS, a documentary funded by the L.A. Children's Hospital focusing on trans-gender HIV positive teens. He co-authored the sports biography, LESSONS OF THE GAME, college football star Derek Sparks' tale of corruption in high school sports. Stuart has directed numerous commercials and infomercials for products such as USA Sport Sunglasses starring Earvin "Magic" Johnson, Armour All, and Floral Expressions.

Stuart directed SYNAGOGUE 2000'S HALLELU at the Universal Amphitheater and at Atlanta's historic Fox Theater. FREEDOM SONG, which he wrote, directed, and composed, has toured the nation championing the cause of rehabilitation, tolerance, and spiritual healing. Recently, Stuart served as director/writer on the PBS special LIGHTS starring Dave Koz, Mare Winningham, and the Klezmatics.

ACTOR
Stuart K Robinson has received acclaim for the countless stage productions from Washington's John F. Kennedy Center to the LA Jolla Playhouse to Los Angeles' Mark Taper Forum in shows including Shout Up a Morning, A Soldier's Play, The Tempest, and Wire! He performed the role of Hamlet in the West Coast Premiere of the Odyssey's Theater's Something's Rockin' in Denmark, the role of Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar‘s West Coast Revival Tour, the Prince of Morocco in The Merchant of Venice at South Coast Repertory along with over thirty other Los Angles Theater Productions.

Stuart received acclaim for the international tour of Driving Miss Daisy, which he directed and starred in, playing to rave reviews and standing room only royal tour performances across India, Thailand, China, and the U.A.E. He starred in the Del Shores hit Cheatin' at Hollywood's Theater/Theater for which he received one of his numerous Dramalogue and L.A. Weekly Awards.

Stuart has supplied voices for over three hundred film and animated projects and has appeared in countless television commercials, most notably in a three-year stint as Fruit of the Loom's Purple Grapes. Stuart has co-starred in such films as Rocky 2, Death Wish Two, Cheech and Chong's Next Movie, Better Off Dead, and Paradise Alley, as well as numerous television projects including Major Dad, Cheers, Quincy M.E., T.J. Hooker, Voyagers, The Incredible Hulk, Major Dad.
